I have a tekin 411 p speed control with the torque limiter adjustment,I have been using this esc in my pan cars, and my b3 buggy with 4,6,and 7 cells .Now the question, i want to run this esc in my electric boat,(bby oval master) with a 19 turn chameleon and 8 to 12 cells if possible? Will my 411 p tekin handle 8 cells or more or just burn up? OH yeah i forgot, the cooling fins that snap on to keep the esc cool have been drilled for water cooling.I thought that would help keep it cool for boat use. ohio bh.

Hi ohio
I don't know the max cell count for your esc. It might take 8 cells but no more . Eight cells would be the absolute max for the 19 turn motor anyway. I run that motor with six cells in spec 19 mono class and get 28mph out of it . Boat use for a esc pushes them to the limit .Car car type esc can work but, they can surprise you with just how quick they can smoke too. What prop are going to use? n.h.schmidt

I just checked a 93 Tower catalog. It will take from 4 to 11 cells. In boat use ,I wouldn't push it to the max though. n.h.schmidt

IMHO...anything over 7 cells is pretty much asking for trouble. i have the same boat running a 19 turn trinity. after some runs my esc (duratrax 8t) has been over the 130 degree mark. and that's with the heat sink modified for water cooling and running a 2400mah sport pack. i have since learned that that esc was a weak link and i'm replacing it this spring. that hull runs pretty good on 6 cells (at least 2400mah), a 19t motor, and say...an x434 prop. i haven't tried anything bigger than that. i think it ran good on the 32mm prop too (if memory serves me right), it's been a long wisconsin winter and memories of last year are fading already :D
