OK..this is me at the moment:

I feel I can put half-decent things on paper with pens and ink (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/KeltosJonn/1337J37.jpg), but I paint bodies (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/KeltosJonn/EMAXX.jpg) like a 6-year old. Time for change.

I have an airbrush and manual brushes at my disposal.

1. how would you go about making custom masks? if there like a sheet of non-residue adhesive that you can cut out and paste where you need? or is there something more efficient than that?

2. when you do decide to paint, is there a guideline to follow for best looks? (ie: darker paint goes on before brighter ones, or vice versa)

im going to be new to this whole paintng things, so any other hints you guys may want to drop will be appreciated. Who knows, one of my horrid pieces of art may be worth something one day.

For custom masks, you could go with some liquid mask (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXC099&P=ML). All you do is apply 4-5 good coats inside the body, then using a pen/pencil/etc. you could draw on the mask, and cut out using a scalpel or hobby knife. You could also use paint masks (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNG11&P=7). Either print out, or draw directly on it your design and then cut out and transfer it to your body.

If you're new to painting, then there's only one real tip you need, and that tip is HauntedMyst's article on painting and airbrusing. (http://www.rctech.net/articles/painting_hauntedmyst.shtml).

The artical Kuya is refering you to is very good. Read through it and you will learn a lot. And practice, also start with more simple designs first, each body you should learn something new to make the next even better.

If your used to drawing things on paper, you could transfer your drawing onto masking tape and cut it out and lay it down inside the body.
Use a nice size cutting mat and lay a few rows of making tape down on it. You can transfer your drawing onto it many ways, then cut it out and apply it to the body.
