does anybody else have a problem with jsut about everything on their t4 breaking?
i was driving straight down a dirt lot thing and my a-arm snapped right in half...didn't even hit anything
so i replace the a-arm with an extra that i happened to have
i go to that same place, start driving around and go off a small jump..maybe went 5 feet, landed perfect on all 4's and the motor guard thing fell off and my motot came with it.
now i've broken over $100 worth of parts in less than a year, on a $300 car!

I don't see how an A-arm just breaks without hitting anything. As for the motor guard, maybe the screws holding it on weren't tight causing it to fall of. I have had good luck with mine. The only major problem seems to be the steering bellcrank for me. I have broken 3 of them already in a year. Everything else I have broken are things that I expected to break, such as A-arms when I run into a fence or cheapo servos from smashing into a fence. I really need to stay away from the fence in my yard. Between all 7 of my offroad vehicles that fence has had to cost me about $400.

the motor guard didn't fall off...it actually cracked
i've broken my servo a couple times...so i got a servo w/ metal gears and it works fine
that sucks that 400 has been spent from a fence!

I run a FT T4 and the only things that seem to break on me (besides the occasional ballcup or front A arm when hitting a Pipe  .) are the front axle carriers where they connect up to the steering turnbuckles (the "arm" part that connects the steering on each side.). This usualy doesn't happen to me unless I hit something though or land a jump akwardly and hard... Otherwise, it has survived numerous tumbles without as much as a scratch. I see more Losi vehicles at my track breaking stuff....ball ends, turnbuckles, etc... not sure why. Perhaps the Losis can be "hustled more" around the track, and that makes them more prone to breakage when they get out of shape or hit something.. odd indeed...

I had a T4 for a while and all I ever did was strip a couple servos until I got a different servo saver. Otherwise it's been fine. I sold it to a friend of mine and he thinks it's great. Don't know what to tell you, maybe you just are having bad luck.
I had a B3 Factory Team I picked up used that always had gremlims. Warped shock bodies that leaked, slipper issues, but after a good thorough rebuild it was fine. Maybe it's time to just rebuild it all and take some extra time making sure it's all done properly.

I don't know if there is a huge difference between the RTR plastics and the FT plastics, but my FT B4 and T4 have taken a lot of abuse and I've barely broken anything.

The suspension parts are about the same, at least in the case of the TC3 Racer and Team kits. In the older RC10s I've milled and grinded the suspensions arms to reduce weight and never broken one. Sold a RC10 Team and a B2 that had roughly 3-4 racing years on them - shocks were rebuilt, diff balls and slipper pads replaced. Suspension arms didn't wear as much as the old white nylon parts but gave an extra set with the purchase.
There were issues with shocks, in the first B2 runs the caps thread were off and in the Full Team threaded TC3 shocks the composite caps didn't fit as secure on the shock as the aluminum caps.

White sox. I take it yours is an RTR. I thought RTR were supposed to be more durable than FT. Maybe this was a myth.

Broke w/o hitting anything...right. Go to a racetrack and watch T4's, B4's, BK2's, and MF2's rally the track, and see how little they break. Seriously...race cars are tough as nails. If you broke an arm, you hit something. Maybe it wasn't today, maybe it was last time you drove it. Maybe it cracked and then finally gave up today, but it didn't just break from not hitting anything.

I race my FT T4 and I have booke a few parts but nothing uncomman. The part that woould break is the ball end in the rear bulk head. II used Losi ti and that works great.

there might be a chance that it was already partly cracked, and i couldn't see it and then it just gave way
i just have really bac luck with this truck

well if it is an RTR like I suspect then it being an rtr is prolly the problem. AE has been having problems with there rtr's for some reason. I've never had a problem of that sort (front A arms and front steering blocks) with my B4 except one time I broke the front suspension tower one time and I have no clue how. I got sideways coming out of the corner before the big over and under jump so I just slowed down I could roll over it kinda and when I landed of the jump to go up the other side something didn't feel right and I had broken the front suspension tower.

I have had lots of trouble with these too. Do the Losi Ti ball ends thread right up? I'll have to try that.

Fact of the matter is, the T4 is a truck thats designed and built for racing. Durability is a secondary concern to handling, speed and weight. Its plenty durable for a track and thats all that matters.
If you want durability..personally i'd look at some older AE trucks, the T2 in particular is tough as nails (shares most of the parts with the RC10GT), and yet it can keep pace with more modern trucks when you get it setup right. Has the advantage of being damn cheap as well :) Like, $30 off ebay cheap.
Oh..and the only difference in materials used for the T4 is the RTR uses plastic composite parts, factory team has graphite, which is more brittle. Its common for people to fit the plastic parts to a T4 in some areas, like the main chassis.

i was actually looking into nitro monster trucks because they're more durable for the way i drive (cuzz im not the best driver)
