I heard July 15. How many of you plan on getting it? I want to buy a TC but I'm not sure if I should wait and spend a little more for the Triple X or go for the tried and true TC3.

go with the TC3. it is way better. apparently, since the antenna on the XXX-S is so short it doesn't have good range and glitches are a factor. another thing is ITS BELT DRIVE! belt drive ***** . go with the shaft driven TC3.

Antenna is too short? That may just be teh worst reason to not get a car because you can fix it with a $.50 piece.
The belt drive on teh new car will be more efficient than a shaft because you won't have the torque steer, the pulleys are huge to eliminate drag, and all of it is new technology from a company you don't have to worry about making a crap car just because it is "new".

Hot News!
David Spashett has TQ'ed with the XXX-S at the Euro Touring 2001 event. I believe 3 of the top 10 qualifiers were running the new Losi. We'll find out tomorrow how they turned out in the real race. But regardless of the racing event, there's no doubt it CAN be a fast car!!!!!

I think it would be best to wait until the car is AVAILABLE before we all go and make definative statements about which is going to be better. Even then, be careful how much weight you give opinions. There are a lot of passionate fans out there that will never admit the car they don't own could be better... :D

I know and I'm sure most of the people on the board know that driving ability is key. But I also know that when I spend my hard earned money I want to know that I'm getting the most for it. Research, research, & research is what it is all about.
I agree that the driver is the main difference between winning and losing. But I know that when you have two drivers that are very close in their abilities, it CAN come down to the better car. Whether it's a better setup, or just a better car.
BTW, I've been going around spreading the news about the Euro race because I am excited to hear when the new XXX-S is doing good. I've unintentionally neglected to credit my source of the hot news - The Orion web site has a live update on racing and they've been doing a spectacular job on getting in online quickly. Thank you Orion for your efforts!!!
And thanks for giving us the news that Spashett won the Championship today!!!
horizonhobby.com has a newsletter out with an interview of Gil Losi Jr. on the XXX-S!
