Hi peeps, new here. Got a question. What do you do to the brushes when you have around 20-30 runs on your motor and had the comm cut already. The comm looks new but the brushes are not evenly rounded. Should I file it to get that rounded shape? Thanks.

After running 20 batts on the motor??? That's for obsessive compulsive racers.

pros would change brushes every race practically! 20 runs sounds about right for changing brushes, even for bashers.

Buy brushes in bulk (like 10 or so) and you only pay about 50 cents per brush - you can afford to change them every 20 runs ;)

Trying to file your brushes or comm is just asking for trouble.

If you run a V2 or Vantage(there the same thing) you can put more then 20 runs on them and not worry about brushes. I have prolly 40 or so runs on mine easily and the comm still looks allmost new same with brushes. Any other motor then that though (unless brushless) you should cut the comm and replace brushes after 20 runs unless you are a physco and want to cut the comm everyother run.

I see. I'm not used to changing brushes when I had tamiya motors. They lasted even the comm was tough. Using other brands I notice they are softer. I guess I just have to use it up till its almost 3mm left. Changing brushes is not an option since a set would coust me upwards of $4. Thanks guys.
