Is the Super worth the extra $20+? One has a 16 turn and the other is 13-36 turn I think. What does that mean? I plan on running a stock motor (P2K) and maybe messing around with mod(but not any time soon). Thanks

The turns are the number of times the wire is wrapped around the armature. And obviously an ESC has a 13 turn limit the manufacture is suggesting that you don't run a motor with less turns than 13. The 13-36 turn motor limit means the ESC can handle motors with as little as 13 turns and as much as 36 turns. By the way, a race legal stock motor is a 27T motor.
It is worth it if you plan to race in the future. They are both really good ESCs and it really depends on how you are going to use it if it is worth the extra cost.
Hope this helps,
Jerry

Can I use a modified motor with these ESC?

I am not familiar with the LRP ESC but the Super Rooster can be used with mod motors. It does not have a motor limit for properly geared and timed motors. Feel free to check out the spec of the Super Rooster in the Product Section of www.teamnovak.com (http://www.teamnovak.com)

I have the lrp super and I really like it. It is much smaller than the rooster and super rooster and lighter as well. You can run modifieds down to 13 turns, maybe even a twelve if you don't over-gear. I ran a twelve turn speed gems(not the most efficient motors, mind you) and noticed towards the end of my pack it would shut down due the thermal protection circuitry, and after about thirty seconds it would come back on. I now only run mild mods or stock with that buggy and have had no problems since. Question: Do you really want reverse? It can be nice, but forward only esc's are smaller and usually more efficient. And once you get some practice in, you don't even need it(my wife does so she drives the b3 with the lrp super esc). Novak fusion is a great choice due to NO motor limit(I think) and a good price.lol :D

As a general rule any motor less than 27 turns is considered a "modified" motor.
