Finally solved my motor overheating problems (pinion and gear meshed too tight causing major overheat) 3 mod motors later (i burnt them all up) and $150 down that was fixed so today I went and bought another new motor 19x2 Team Orion Rush Motor.... only to discover the weirdest thing is happening.
It will glitch and run to about 10 metres then decide it wants to turn suddendly. Keeps doing this. Moved the receiver box etc. etc. checked all wires did everything, even put new batts in the controller still the same prob.
Heres the WEIRD thing. As soon as I take that motor out and put a stock or sport tuned motor it runs fine and no radio glitches or sudden loss of control
what the hell is going on ??? I soldered the schoche diode thing onto the motor hoping that will solve it, moved the receiver box, checked all wirining, changed batts everything is fine ??
anyone got a clue why it does this with the mod motor but with the other motors its fine ???
thanks

you didnt solder the 3 capacitors on the motor im guessing. thats probably what it is.

you probbaly over heated the diod while sodering and popped them.

I havent soldered anything can someone help here ???
The ESC came with a shoche doide thing ( i just twisted it around + and - termanal + it alscome cam with these smaller diode things they look like the ones that come standard fitted and soldiered on mod motors what do i I do here so I can fix this problem

I would solder all connections. The points to solder should be in your hand book on the motor or esc. I am out of date on this issue, your best bet is to pm someone pronto.

well the motor comes with the little orange color capacitator already pre-soldered... the manual just tell you to solder the shouke diode thing onto the motor i did that as instructed and its still glitching....
someone anyone plz im about to give up on mod motors altogether and stick to a black can ! anyone ??

ahh dont go that far. is any of your servo or esc wires touching the antenna? of close. umm I am trying to think of back when I had a 13*2 in my xxx-sg+
well you have narrowed it down to the high freq noise. the esc runs right in another car ? I would take the reciever out and with it still plugged up to the motor and esc and see if that solves the problem(this simulates that you need to move it farther away) un hook your servo if that doesnt work, and then I would run the esc and same motor in another car and see if it is doing the same thing. your antenna may be shorting out on something. it would really help if you posted pix.

Heres pics of it i dont think its the reciver its got something to do with the motor cause it runs fine on sport tuned or stock motors.

First, don't use the Schottky diode if you are running a reversible speed control.
Second: There should be three ceramic disc type capacitors soldered to any motor. One between the (+) contact and the can, one between the (-) contact and the can, and one between the (+) and (-) contacts. These will filter out the "noise" which causes glitching.

Make sure the power wires from the esc to the motor are twisted around each other. This can help elimiate some of the glitches.(Your wires are short so this may not be an issue) Is the Timaya connetor tight? I have never been fans of these. The Mod motor will be pulling much more and if that connection is weak it can cause some nightmares. Does it only do it at high speed or do you get small servo glithces all of the time. THey are just more pronounced at high speed? Also put the car on a stand and have it running. Move all of your wires and see if you can recreate the glitch. You could have a bad servo wire. I would guess not because it is only this motor.
Watch the motor run. Is there excesive arching around the com? You may need to have the comm cut and or new brushes. I have seen stuff from the factory that is in poor shape.
Also is there a track near you? If so take it to there and see if some people can help you go through it. Usually racers are nice and willl help you if they can.
Picture shows the radio wires tie wrapped to the power wires. Seperate these on a stand and see if the glitch goes away.
