I have the Speed Gem 2 ruby (16x3).
My new Question is which Spur and pinion should I use? I currently have a 20 tooth and 22 tooth pinion and one 96 tooth spur gear. not much to work with I know. My gearbox ratio is 2.6. What Gear ratio is best? Is the higher the number the faster the speed or vice versa? Please help? I have a Rs4 MT with bearings everything else is stock.

If you are running an Associated car go to their web site and look at the Tech Help section for recommended gear ratios.
I believe that a 96 tooth spur with a 20 tooth pinion would be faster than a 96 tooth spur with a 22 tooth pinion. I could be wrong so check with the manufacture web site for the car/truck you are using for recommended ratios and gearing. Also check the manual if you still have it. My Associated manual for the RC10L3 oval has this info in it. The smaller the pinion the larger you can go with the spur seems to be a general rule of thumb.
