I'm new to the R/C Zone forums, but I'm sure I'll be spending more time here. Already learned a lot by just browsing! :D

I'm looking for a 1/18th scale truck, and have narrowed it down to the Associated RC18MT and the Mini LST. Which one is the better truck? Anyone have any experiences (good or bad) they'd like to share?

I'd appriciate any advice!

Thanks in advance!

I have both, but only have run-time with the RC18MT so far... It has been great, but it has a few quirks... the steering link is a bit weak IMO, and the exposed spur gear can be problematic in the dirt... but otherwise has been a solid performer.

The Mini LST is a bit bigger overall (closer to 1/16th scale I believe), but has been reported to have a few problems from the box, such as weak plastic gears and a center diff that unloads power to the front wheels really easily.

I haven't had the time to tear it apart and upgrade the diffs (with the free upgrade kit from Losi) so mine hasn't left the box yet.

You can find tons more info on both trucks at this 1/18th-dedicated site

I have an RC18t and with a few upgrades it is a very solid truck, and very very easy to work on. The MLST has many more parts, but it is also quite a bit bigger. I was also looking at getting MLST, but price wise and ease of fixing caused me to run for the RC18T. If you like, I am trying to sell my RC18T because I found I love the quirks of nitro too much. It has many upgrades that I highly recommend to any RC18 owner. Mainly the brushless/ lipo with Driven Pro drag link and the Mono wide arm kit.
