I am using an 81 tooth (48 pitch) spur, and a 17 tooth pinion. If i am correct, a bigger spur or smaller pinon should increase exceleration and make the motor run cooler. When i use this setup on a bolink sport 2000 with a 14turn triple speedgems motor, the motor seems to get hotter then it should (hotter then i would like it to) What else should i use to make the motor cooler besides get a heat sink.

to be honest with you mate, it'll get hot no matter what you do to it unless you run it w/out the bodyshell in the artic.
If it aint taking the skin off your fingers when you touch it, or smell like a canibals kitchen (ie burnt) its not a major problem!

Well, im just a little lery about them getting hot now, because i melted a 15t trinity monstors of touring motor. It wasnt a big deal because those arent top of the line $50 motors, but it could have been.

It shouldnt have a problem with the gearing you have. you've either got something resisting againt the drive system, or your esc aint up to the job.
I had a m-troniks that was meant to be no motor limit, but made the car a oven.
Maybe that might help.

Well, the Bolink sport 2000 is a driect drive car, and i have a Novak Fussion esc which has a 12t motor limit on it. (the motor i am useing is a 14t triple.)
I will get a heat sink for it and then it will be allright. It isnt getting as hot as the one that melted, so it would probably be alright w/out the heat sink. but buetter safe then sorry.

It might be getting hot b/c of the mesh between the gears. Put a piece of paper or 2 between the gears, push them together, then secure the motor. Everything should be nice and free, but not lose.

My fusion was fine with a D4 14 quad, you should not have any probs that way. I plan on getting the Peak Aurora 12 triple in my buggy, probably with the fusionm, but i am shooting for an Atom
