Hello everybody, I would greatly appreciate any help with my questions. Here is the deal, I went ahead and purchased a j-3 piper cub, (electric) it has rudder control, elevator, and trottle speed. my question is I would like to try hand launching first,(read that ground launch is more difficult) but I've read several conflicting articles, some say to throw the plane into the wind hard like a dart, but then I read not to throw like a dart, but toward the ground with a little force. which is it? also if someone can please tell me, when hand launching, nobody ever explains where the controls are except for full throttle, being that this plane does not have ailerons, are the elevators in a neutral position when launching or should the elevators be slightly trimmed up ?

Why do we Park in Driveways, and Drive on Parkways?

Well I find hand lauching more difficult then doing a roling takoff. Yes you should have a little bit of up elevator when you are hand launching. To asnwser you queston about hand launching do a nice smooth motion straght in to the wind at full throttle. when you hand launch DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF get someone to do it for you (dont ask how I know) Did you buy the Parkzone j-3 cub??? If you did well... It is not a good one to learn on. The Parkzone Slow-V (about 180 dollers) is GREAT!!! it is a 3 channel to. If you have enough, Get it it is a GREAT trainer you have high and low rate for beginners and experts. If you dont have enough, Seek help learning how to fly your J-3 cub. If you do fly it before you have help learning you will most likley turn it into a kit ;) ;) Good luck flying

Thanks you have been a great help and yes it is a J-3 Cub Park-Flyer R/C Airplane, which I will probably set aside and go with the slow v first.

Great!!! I hope you have fun flying. If you go http://www.hobbyzone.com/rc_planes_parkzone_slo-v.htm you will find a video of it flying indoors and out. If you want a free flight sim FMS is a good one http://n.ethz.ch/~mmoeleer/fms/index_e.html

You can get 4 channel controller for 50$ that will theach you how to fly like a real rc plane and helicopters. The game commander was for Aerofly delux but you can use it for anyother flight sim. Try too look up "game commander flight sim controller" If that does not work well... Try somthing else.
