Hi.
I just got my D4 and no solder leads in the mail from Tower Hobbies. I opened up and tried to find any sort of instructions, but they are very vague!
The motor seems to have 4 places for the leads to hook on to.
B P
P B
B = Blue
P = Purple
Ther are blue cylanders and purple wires wrapped around stuff near these places.
Where do I put on my leads? They're black and red, does it matter which one goes where?
Please help me! I'm hopeless! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

The copper tabs sticking up in the front of the picture (with the holes in them) are where the wires attach. There's a mark on the top of the endbell with a little plus sign [+]. This indicates which side of the endbell is positive. This is where the red lead attaches.

Firstly, yes it matters where the leads go (if you want the motor to rotate in the right direction). Two of the copper terminals will be on the positive side, and two on the negative side of the endbell.
To find which side is the positive, look in the middle of the endbell near where the armature shaft pokes through - there should be a + sign in the plastic indicating the positive. That whole side of the endbell will be the positive side. Attach your RED wire to one of the copper terminals there, put the black on the other side. The blue "cylinders" are the brush hood heatsinks. The "purple wires" are the brush springs that keep the brushes nicely up against the commutator. The things they wrap around are the spring posts.
What sort of ESC do you have ? Does it have leads already soldered (with some sort of connector) or does it just have solder terminals (and how many)?. Follow the insturctions in the ESC manual to wire the motor. A D4 will have capacitors installed, so you don't have to do that...
Good Luck. Post back if you need more help, or email me.

I have a Futaba MC330CR with bullet connectors.
Thank you so much!

What motor do you have (how many turns)? It may be too powerful for the speed control. Also, some hobby shops have solderless adapters that have a bullet connector on one end (for the speed control) and a tongue-type connector (female) that slide over the motor tabs. If you can't find them (I think Trinity makes them) you can make your own. But, if your going to have to solder the adapters together, you may as well solder the wires directly to the motor.

I thank you for your concern, but the whole topic was about my Trinity D4 motor and Trinity "No Solder Leads."
I had all the necessary and compatible parts, I just wasn't sure of how to hook the leads on to the motor and the instruction sheet was pitiful. I came here for help and got it.

Well, sorry for trying to take that extra step to try and help you. Next time I'll know my boundaries. You're welcome...
