View Full Version : Stuck with a sloppy rear end!

I've used a rc10b3 for the last year and am having trouble with the rear wheels. If I want the dog bones to stay put i have to add extra spacer on the inside of the hub this pushes the bones deeper into the outdrives. Great, but the wheels now touch the hub when tightened down all the way. I can still race, and compete, but I can't help but wonder if my performance is suffering.

Anyone else having this trouble? any suggestions?

There should be a spring that pushes the dogbone into the outdrive. Are you missing them? I would upgrade to CVDs though.

By the way, for a sloppy rear end, you may want to take some Pepto Bismol or Imodium AD.

They aren't the same setup as the old RC-10. I have the RC10 Factory Team B3 and it's a different Setup. I dont' think it'll cause a problem on mine however

IT HAS CVD'S, NO SPRINGS

Yeah..
when I was assembling My B3 (Just finished Last Night) I noticed that the dog bones barely stayed inside the hub. I would guess that While Driving on rough terrain that it might make them pop out.

i think there was some problem when they were designing the car because this isn't the first time i've heard of that problem if you are desparate you could buy right from mip raplacements, i recommend the aluminum ones the ARE GREAT!!!

2FAST,
DO YOU MEAN REPLACEMENT OUT DRIVES? OR CVD'S, BECAUSE MY KIT CAME WITH CVD'S

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the rear shocks need spacers inside?. If you don't have them then your rear suspension travel is greatly exaggerated and your cvd/dogbone will fall out. Make sure you have the shocks mounted on the correct holes too.

WAIT A SECOND...are you running with + camber?

no 2fast, like i said, i've had it for about a year, and have tried alot of different things. i may not be the most experienced mechanic out there but i do know enough not to run with posotive camber.......don't get me wrong though, i am not offended, you have no idea what my skills are, i truely appreciate your advice. It warms my heart that so many are interested in helping me.

Mine are like you said close to coming out but ive had mine for a while and havent had that problem yet. So I'm not going to fix something that isnt broken. But I know for a fact that if you get the light out drives from HG they are longer and the dogbone fits farther down inside the outdrive. Hope that helps.

Charmin Ultra should work fine for your sloppy rear end.

OH, and check those shock spacers(You might not have any. I don't). Make sure that you're not on the way inner hole on the A-arm. Make sure your eyelets are tight on the shock shaft, and never ever use positive camber.
