TRAXXAS Street Sport?

Does anyone own one of these or know if it is a decent platform to build off of?

The Street Sport was my first R/C car and I have it hopped up considerably. I have the following installed on it:

1. Trinity Speed Gems Sappphire 17T Single mod motor

2. Futaba ESC

3. Traxxas Big Bore Shocks w/Losi springs

4. HPI racing slicks

5. 190 mm HPI Saleen Mustang body

6. Full Promax shielded ball bearing set

The car is awesomely fast and is a good parking log fun car. It is direct drive 2wd and comes with a ball differential standard. The car is great, good price too at $119.00 from Hobby People. This includes the Traxxas TQ radio.

I just got a Bolink Sport2000 (actually bolink muscle car) from TowerHobbies, and it isnt much of a slowpoke. I got it instead of the StreetSport becuase it was about the same price (for a kit on towerhobbies the sport2000 was $68 and street sport was $75 or so) The sport2000 has what looks like more room on the chassis from comparing pictures at the traxxas website vs. pics at the bolink website, and because the sport2000 has a little bit more of a direct drive then the street sport. The downside: Sport 2000 dosnt come with a motor/msc (that wasnt a problem for me because i dont use that stuff anyway)

It depends on what you want to "build." If you're wanting to build a car with custom parts, I would suggest an HPI car. There are more aftermarket parts for the HPI cars than any other brand. Traxxas also has a good but more limited selection of hop-up parts as well for thier own cars.

Its a good car but the one thing i would do is replace the stock tires.

I think instead of a Street Sport i am going to get a MR-4 Rally, anyone know of serious downsides of this car?
