View Full Version : Anyone have dynos numbers for those motors?

I can't find any dyno numbers on those motors and that would really help me narrow down my choices for my next motor.
If anyone has seen (or gathered themselves) some dyno numbers on those, please post them or a link:
- Orion Revolution modified 12x2
- Speedgem extreme 12x2
- Speedgem Pro Titanite 12x2
- Trinity Cobalt 12x2
- Trinity Cobalt 2 12x2
Secondary to dyno numbers, I'm also open to suggestion and comments on those motors. I'm running a 2wd buggy (Evader Pro BX) and my priorities are: 1) top speed, 2) low maintenance, 3) overall punch.
BTW, anyone has used those on an Intellispeed 12t ESC? Just making sure I won't fry it since it seems to be right at the limit for my ESC.

The speedgem extreme and pro are going to be less powerfull than the other three as they are machine wount. The other three will have very similar power, although the Cobalt 2 will be more powerful than the original cobalt obviously.

Thanks, yes according to the prices of the motors it would be logical to see the 2 speedgems perform less good than the rest, but the dyno would help me in judging exactly which one would most likely offer the best bang for the buck for me (I've heard a lot of good things about the speedgem motors).

The dyno numbers would be irrelevant as they change from motor to motor. Also, unless you are extremely experienced with dynos, you wouldn't be able to take any valuable information from the readouts.

I am aware of the margin of error, but it's not a gigantic variance and it's at least way smaller than the variance between a certain motor architecture/brand compared to another, so it still gives a decent comparison tool.
I don't want to start an argument about the worth of dynos numbers here, so let's please stay on topic.
If anyone has dyno numbers/links or opinions on those motors, please post them.

I was wondering if the endbell ball bearing of the Cobalt 2 is removed from the inside or outside?
Team Orion V2 based motor should have more torque than Cobalt 2 but Cobalt 2 has better RPM.

they should all be relatively close in punch, and driver skill will help in that area too. the lowest maintence, again, they should all be relatively close, with the speed gems having a litte bit less maintence to do. top speed, again, gearing and driver skill.
all that being said, i keep hearing amazing things about the revolution. ask everyone at the track what they are running. that should give you a general idea
