Team Losi won 1/10-scale Gas Truck and Monster Truck at Thunder Alley’s 2nd Annual 3-Hour Enduro in Beaumont, California. Adam Drake anchored both Losi teams that also featured Losi/Trinity Pro Travis Amezcua. Ironically, all of the trucks used in the 1/10-scale class were Team Losi AD2s. In the race’s largest class, 1/8-scale Buggy, Team Pro-Line/Mugen lead by Scott Hughes won. The Pro-Line/Mugen team’s “sportsman” driver finished his leg of the race just a few seconds behind former World Champ Greg Degani. That’s pretty fast for a sportsman! After the race everyone grubbed down on some carne-asada with all the fixings. The race was dialed! Here is the stuff that won.

Um, about that 'stock' M26 that the LST 2 ran. The Team Losi website says that the LST 2 comes with a;
• Mach 427 Big Block 7 Port Engine

I have seen several of the LST 2 trucks and they definitly don't have Mach 26s, they have the Mach 427.

Peter,
A quick question, do you know if the Losi team did any mods to the LST 2 that they won with? Other than the 40 series rims with Crime Fighters.

That is a marketing approach. a 427 engine(which is really only a 4.27cc engine) = a .26 engine, it is just metric instead of standard means of measurement. People like to purchase what comes with a larger # because they are not aware of the fact that it is the same. For example, which sounds better a 5.7 liter or a 357 cubic inch engine? People go with the 357 because it just sounds bigger even though they are the same engine.

Last time I was there it was a little on the slow side for my tastes but a nice track none the less.

The track was AWESOME. It held up great throughout the day, and it was more than entertaining to drive on. I didn't want to give the radio up after my 45 minutes were done!

tmaxxnt - I'm pretty sure the truck was basically as pulled from the box. I'm also not sure they ran Pro-Line wheels...I'm not certain, but I think they were using Losi's 420 size wheels and 20mm hexes.

Congratulations to the Pro-Line/Mugen team for winning the buggy race (especially to Mike Shirley..his performance earned him a Mugen ride!), congrats to the Pacific Coast Hobbies guys for joining Adam and Travis to win the Monster Truck race, and big thanks to the guys for helping my dad and I to our second endurance race win! Watching the old man drive is the most stressful part of my race day...haha!

I think the most rewarding part of the day came long before the barbecue and trophy presentation; Adam decided to donate the truck we won with (which was built brand new for the event) to the team who finished last in the gas truck division, who had chosen an AD2 to be their race truck. The other team Losi team (who finished 2nd), donated all the tires they had used during the race (that were in still very good condition). The guys said it was better than winning the race could've ever been!

The layout was awesome..not parts-breaking for such a long race, but certainly not so easy that it was boring. One of the best tracks I've raced on in a long time, for sure!

I work at Pacific Coast Hobbies and the LST 2 used a Mach 427 the first LST motor and the Losi rims with crime fighters.
Also the truck was basically all stock and had forward only kit in it and the HT Losi pipe. Other then that the truck was set lower for the race.
One final note is that the truck is for sale at Pacific Coast Hobbies store for $550, you are getting a race winning truck for a great price.

Aaron,
It was really cool to see you guys give the winning truck to the "privateers". It was also good to see you at the race and more recently at the Nitro Challenge. I'll see you at the Silver State and wish you a continued recovery. Say hi to your pops for me.
