Got the stadium raider TL01 today spent all day building it. I have installed on the fresh built kit teflon bearings, ajustable tie rods/upper arms, speed tuned gear set, CVA oil shock dampers, hi torque servo saver, alloy main shaft and stabalizer set. Im running it on a Standard Tamiya ESC TEU-101BK + sport tuned blak can motor.

I purchased all tamiya pinions gears sizes hoping to make the correct gearing so my motor doesnt overheat like my previous car. Im running a 19Tpinion with the speed tuned gears + motor heatsink. Its still VERY hot to touch. What should I change to ? Tamiya manuals tells me that 23T should be matched to the sport tuned blak can. This is way too slow on takeoff and correct me if im wrong but doesnt higher pinion mean even hotter motor ?

Someone please guide me how to get a lukewarm or warm to touch motor running. It gets very hot to touch after about 10 minutes of play. I dont know if this helps but im using 3000mah intellect NiMH battery pack.

Thanks in advanace.

PS any TL01 fans that can recommend anything else to get the most out of this chassis for moderate offroading please let me know !

thanks !

Use the 19-Pinion; it`s works well with the Tamiya Sport Tuned Motor.
-Or you can use/get the Tamiya Super Stock TZ / RZ Motor(s); they are fast 23-Turn Motors. . . . .it won`t get really hot.

Take Care.

yeah im really tempted to get that actually ive looked at it like 3 times and put it bak at the local hobby shop. If my standard tamiya esc teu-101bk gets hot at the moment i dont think it can run that motor if im wrong correct me.

The TEU-101BK ESC will get hot if you run it for a long time; but it won`t get any hotter with the 23-Turn Tamiya Super Stock TZ / RZ Motor(s).
-Believe me; I`ve tried it.
- -Also I used the ESC that comes in the RTR Version with the Tamiya Super Stock Motor TZ. . . . .I`ve had no problems.

I don`t use the Tamiya ESC anymore because I CRASHED the car.....Ha Ha! I use a Futaba MC800 V2 ESC now.

Take Care.
