I just ordered my first RC car, and I will be getting it at the end of the week. I bought the Taymia F-150 lighting awd. I also order some hi-po stuff-P2K motor to replace the stock 540. Magnum sport controller and some other stuff. Is this a good RC set up? The guy at the store said I should be happy with it but you know salesmen! I drag race REAL cars but have little knowledge about the RC car sport. Any help is a big help!

Well, I was asking if the model RC was good. I bought it so I would have something to play with when i'm not drag racing on the weekends.

you got a tamiya tl01 ford f150 lighting i presume...its good enuff for bashing around..strong enuff to take knocks but not competitive in rc racing...with a tamiya you get great build quality (built like a tank) what you got is a beginner/starter car..strong, reliable, fast enuff with the proer motor and gearing (try the p2k with a 23t pinion and you're flying fast enuff)..oh yeah..i suggest getting ball bearings for the drivetrain and a electronic speed controller. if you havent got em .

It's a little difficult to answer your question. Will your set-up be easy to build, relatively durable and fun? Yes. I would have to know a lot more about what you want out of an RC car before I could offer any specific advice concering how well it's going to fit your needs.
