If you have a bigger budget I don't suggest you get this ESC. But it depends on your budget. I have a Tekin Rebel www.tekin.com (http://www.tekin.com) Check out the Futaba MC330CR at www.futaba-rc.com (http://www.futaba-rc.com) (I think that is the website)
The limit is 17+ turns minimum with a 6 volt battery and 1 motor (cant be used in dual motor applications. I dont really recommend this speed control, and you can find ones a lot better for around its price.

I have one and love it for my stock motor rides and my 17 turn and up cars.
You can't find a better REVERSING ESC for it's 35 dollar sticker too.
It's good, but is limited to 17turn motors and up.
Of course for me half my stuff is 17turn and up. That's fast enough, and I get LONG runtimes.

About how much speed would I get with a 17T compared to the stcock rustler's 20T?

You will notice a modest increase in speed and torque. I have the Traxxas XL-1 in both my Rustler and Bandit buggy and they are reasonably fast and get decent run times using a Trinity Monsters of Touring 17T double motor and a 1700 mAh battery pack. Don't expect nitro like speeds though. Compared to my Nitro Rustler they still seem pretty slow.

My friend put a 17 turn Speedgems 2 in his Stampede and that thing is MUCH MUCH faster than that stock 20 turn Stinger.
