I am relatively new to this hobby. I have been using comm drops. The last time at the track a couple experienced racers said "what's that smell...". Well, it was my motor. I said you suppose its the comm drops? They both said they don't use them anymore, that they tend to gum up the motor.
I think they are right, based on my motors being too hot (even geared what I believe is low), burning out one comm, and a motor slowing to about 50% power one race; it was ok after a good cleaning.
What are anybody's thoughts on comm drops?
