I am a Rustler owner. If you want a good RTR truck this is the best one so far in my opinion. There are a ton of hop ups out for it. It is very tough and fast. I have a Tekin Rebel and a 13T in my rustler and it flies. $220 is way over priced. Go to www.omnimodels.com (http://www.omnimodels.com) and they have Rustlers for $140.
These are some hop ups to consider:
ball bearings
RPM bearing carriers for front and rear (allows bigger bearings for the wheels)
GPM aluminum shock Towers
GPM aluminum Bulkheads
Traxxas machined tranny gears
Traxxas slipper Clutch (your kit will probabaly already have this as well as tranny bearings)
Electronic speed Control
MOD motor
New Tires (kit tires wear fast) I have the dirt hawgs on my truck right now.

Hope this helps. If you have any more question I will help the best I can. These are not at all the hop ups available. There are many more.

its crap it always breaks even when you dont crash spur gears strip anonomosly, cheap mechanical speed control limits to 19 turns then tamiya connectors melt ,then change to deans ultra plugs with your quarts motor from trinity speed gems then get good tires and cant compete. then get associated b3 and t2 with great competition and equiptment which is standard upgradable. then want a 4wd buggy so buy mx4 from sponsored racer then send picture of mx4 and b3 and send it to readers rides and have it be in the febuary issue listed under Anthony Bidegain look for yourself then get RC10GT then get TC3 and race on carpet indoor track called leisure hours raceway in plainfield illinois. thats what i've done since i got my associated vehicles traxxas has laid under my bed for 3 years and im trying to sell it with top equipment and it wont sell. seeeee how bad it is its good for nothing really

so what if you cant sell your rustler, im gonna get one and ive been in the hobby for 3 years its gonna replace my xxt, R.I.P., and is very cheap. parts are very easy to find too, but im not gonna run it with the bushings till i get some bearings, then ill stap in my 13x2 and tekin esc and haul ***, and get some good tires too step pins are great for offroad and sand.

TC3 Mclaren F1 by your post I assume you are a beginner. Spur gears stripping anonamously was about the only thing I understood in your post due to your broken English. Have ever heard of a slipper clutch. Well they are great. They prevent your gears from getting stripped and help the power to get to the ground smoothly and help stop wheel spin. WOW a new revelation! LOL

F1 you must drive for AE or Losi or at least you wish you could. The rustler is a good truck just because you could'nt set you spur gap properly does not make this a bad truck

oh ya p.s slipper clutch good.

I've never owned a Traxxas vehicle, but from what I've seen the Rustler is a great truck for beginners, and can be upgraded to be pretty competitive in the hands of a skilled driver. $220 is way to much for a Rustler though!

I thinking about buying a Rustler my self and if I do I'm gonna buy one from www.hobbypeople.com (http://www.hobbypeople.com) cause their prices are a couple dollars less than Tower Hobbies.

This TC3 guy was on here two months ago claiming that HE was an AE drover and was testing the new T4s and B4s, even though those don't exist yet.

He's full of it, on both counts.

I think the Rustler is a great buy, and a durable and fun truck to start with.

Check the topic called "associated b4".

I just went and checked it. In that topic TC3 F1 here was saying he was the factories secret golden boy. He posted on Aug 10th. Now it looks like he went and edited those very posts on Sep 8th or so, to act like he never said it. That's about the same time I called him on it the first time, go figure.

Too bad we can't check original posts like that. Read the whole topic and you can tell where people were asking him about his statements.

So I think you should take his statements on the Rustler with a grain of salt, or no grain at all. LOL http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif
