Peak Charger problem

I have a Duratrax Pirahna peak charger. When I bought it almost a year a go it would get hot and also make the battery hot when it was charging. It would take @ 20-25 min.
Now the charger gets hot and the batteries, even brand new, do not. The charger's LED blinks after 45 mins. Is there someting wrong with the charger and is there a way I can check to make sure I am not ruining the batteries? Thanks for any suggetsions. Jim.

I have a Phriana peak charger too, and on the box it says that if it dosent detect a peak after 45 min it will shut off.
