I'm thinking about getting back into on-road, and wanted to here some opinons on the Tamiya TA05. Would this be a good car to get, and how well does it handle?

Thanks
RH

Hi,
i got the TA05 and a 415MSX. I'm sorry for the MSX, but the TA05 is in stock condition one of the best cars out of the box. I only have the TRF-shocks and ceramic-balls in the 2 diffs, that's my only hop-up's. Now have run it about 50 times with 12x1 Reedy KR and 10x1 Team Orion V2 on an indoor carpet track. Fantastic, the stock diff outdrives are still in great condition and no part needs to be changed.

Do you know someone who is looking for an MSX - i have one for sale :D :D :D

Why do you not like the MSX? Also how much are you selling it for?

Thanks

For the price you pay for this chassis, you definitely can't get better in balance. There were several reasons why I bought the car:
1) Motor is mounted in the middle
2) Symetrical belt drives

On my first run, I was very impressed on how very smoothly the car took off on a full throttle launch with a 10 turn motor. The control and the feel of it is all there. Another thing to point out is how this car handles and steers with precision. This thing can grab & hug the turns very well.

Hi im running a ta05 on a large outdoor track, GT body with foam tires, running a novak 5.5 system, the first time ever out on the track with it, i ran a 19.2s, only 1.8 sec off lap record for modified electric from the australian nationals... (lap record is with a 7x1 brushed)

So i guess the car is fast, and i think it represents excellent value for money. Id definately recommend upgrading the shocks first, then see how u go.

The only downside is that the chassis is a bit heavier then others, but for $88 u can buy a full grahite chassis conversion if you want :)

Cheers
