Gonna get this kit, but I need wheels and tires too. I think it'll be run mainly on asphalt and smooth pavement

No, he is right - The factory team kit DOES NOT come with wheels and tires if I remember correctly. Check out The TC3 Datasheet (http://www.teamassociated.com/shusting/CatalogHub/KitSpecs,TC3/datasheet_tc3.pdf) for confirmation.

Nearly any rim will fit the TC3, or any touring sedan (except Losi SW). They all have the hex rims.
Your best bet is to go to www.speedtech.com (http://www.speedtech.com) and order their tire packages. Great deals, you can get a Yok 206 set (4 wheels, 4 tires, 4 inserts) for $36. I would suggest starting at medium tire compound and medium inserts as well.

Really any wheels will fit, as long as they are zero offset(& it semms most manufacturers do that now). As for tires, I'e become quite impressed with Sorex's tires(in the summer, I'd suggest somthing from 28R's to 36R's, save the softer ones for colder weather & carpet), with either Yokomo firm molded or HPI green inserts..... :)

I just got some Ofna rims that I'd ordered for my TC3 and for the life of me I can't get them to fit... they're close, but they just won't go on... <shrug>

I'm takin a look at some hpi rims and there are some that fill out 5mm on each side so you can use the 200mm bodies. I want to get a specific 200mm body too. Is this ok to do or is it stupid?

even if you don't get the 5mm offset one's... you can use spacers to create offset even more but i don't exactly know how. maybe someone else knows how.

Lasagna Cat, is the problem you're having with the OFNA wheels the size of the center hole that the threaded part of the axle goes through? If so, then just bore the hole out some, I just use an Exacto blade to carve some material out of them, & then they fit very nicely. The same goes for Yokomo's wheels, you can use any of their zero offset wheels, but if they don't say they're for the TC3 then you'll need to enlarge that little hole to make them fit. Don't worry about them getting off center after enlaging the hole, the wheels are centered by the hex hubs so they'll still turn true..... :)

The center hole is fine, it's the actual hex part that won't go in... it might just be (hopefully) because they're the chrome matte finish, I didn't try xacto knife surgery on them yet...

I run Jacos yellow or green, 24mm when I race. I have heard that the TREADS are nice to. If you want some cool looking rims, check out the Traxxas 4tec rims. those are sweet.
