I've heard that the RC10T3 is a bit more tough for bashing around with. But for the price, you get a lot of stuff with the spec car.

I had a losi XXT sport for my first car, I used a 14t motor it went 32mph at the track. I once jumped it off a 3 foot tall jump and it nose dived, the brace broke, but the new XXX's are designed differently so there is no more weak brace. I have never broken an A-Arm or any other parts. But as with any kit, let off the gas before you touch down after a jump, every truck will strip gears if you dont. But I plan on getting a Dirt Spec soon to race.

I dunno about the T3 being stronger my bro broke two steering knuckles on his while I have yet to break something on my XXT-CR and trust me I hit a rocky lump of dirt that sent the truck into a violent looking cart wheel yet nothing broke.
The dirt spec cars look sweet if I were to get anouther off road car I'd probalbly get the dirt spec XXX just for the cool looking blue parts :D

They should be great, and can go a few race days without the later necessary stuff, such as bearings, and Ti tie rods, which, IMHO are still not needed, i have only broken 1 steel tie rod on my XXX, and i have had it since July of last year, just drive carefully, and it will be fine. Bearings are a must, the bushings can last a while, but you will love bearings.

I have had a spec xxxt for a little while now and it is a good truck. I got it cause I only had the money for it and had parts to make it race worthy. I would say the best 2 things I upgraded in the kit were bearings all around and Super duty 3.5 mm Ti rods.
Like XXXer said you dont need them if you are carefull but that is a buggy not the truck. The geometry of the truck is different and it puts a ton of pressure on the rear turnbuckles. I bent 3 and broke 2 of the heavy duty Lunsford turnbuckles. Since then I have switched to the superduty ones and havnt had a problem.

And to prevent A-arm breakage remember to let off the throttle just before you hit the wall at the end of the straightaway and try to hit square on, that way your a-arms should be intact afterwards. :)

digex, that sounds like you would do one of a few things:
Break the front bulk head
break the front pivot block
Break the chassis, like i did last saturday
Break the ball studs.
An A arm does not sound as bad as a chassis personally.

Gives you an excuse to buy a graphite chassis though... ;)
