since 1/8 on road cars have solid rear axels and front one ways, what would the handling characteristics be like for a touring car with the same set up?

It would be similar, although you need the right suspension set-up to go along with that kind of drivetrain. It's been my experience that touring cars with this type of drivetrain need much higher bite to pull it off. I would speculate that it's because touring cars don't have the wide footprint and massive tire width of the 1/8 on-road cars.

It gets the car out of the corners very quickly, and if you can get the inside rear wheel to unload properly, the car will still get through the corner well. I think its best on tracks with a lot of high-speed sweepers, but I'm sure you can find people that have had success on all types of tracks and conditions. Try it out... what's the worst thing that can happen? ;)

That, & it'd rip up dogbones every run.... :p

Nah, I've seen cars with this set-up run a whole season without any extra wear of the dogbones. Of course, that doesn't take into account the number of times me and my friends hit the wall so hard that we have to replace them for other reasons anyway, but that's another story. ;)

Ok, I'll amend that, I'D break a lot of dogbones every run...lol :p

In my experience in full scale cars .. the rear end would pop during turning at low speed. I will try the setup on my Pro 4.

Currently I have a spool up front and a diff in the back and at high speeds the car does not turn in very well, it might be due to traction (I run on asphalt).

But Since we are on the subject what do you guys think about runing a diff in front and a spool in the back?

Thanks,

Az

i've considered spool in the rear and diff in the front, but for my savage. from what i know, that set up is good for off roading specifically rock climbing. i wouldn't know how it would work onroad. i have my ft ntc3 set up with a one way in front and a spool in the rear, but i haven't put in a motor yet to test it.

ive run this setup for close to 2 years now, spool in rear with a front one-way and it runs beautifully for me, first year it was in a TT-01, now ive been running my TB Evo IV with this setup...
