if your on a tight track with lots of turns and big jumps the p2k is an awesome little motor with lots of torqe.but if you want abit more accel and top end go with a phantom p2k

i like the p2k and the spitfire, i have several of each . i read the orignal post to learn alittle more about the mvp, but instead found out that i need my attitude adjusted, so i will go get a cold one and do just that.

Ok Dude,

The answer is easy. If you are having so much trouble deciding between the two and clearly can't make a decision here it is. GET A P2K. Period. Lets end this. Clearly it has been decided that the P2k is more gearing friendly. It also seems to be more popular- I don't mean to cause another debate, but it has been out longer and more people are familiar with the motor and gearing it correctly, brushes and springs to use, etc. Anyway, get the P2K and you will not be unhappy.... get the MVP and possibly, have issues. After you get some more experience with gearing and the rest, experiment. We are, after all, talking about a $40 or less motor, not the end of the world. If $40 is high, I've been there on the budget end, don't mess with success. GET THE P2K.

Good Luck!

(Phew... just had to get that off my chest. After reading the closed post during lunch I had to say something. ;) )

how come nobody buys modified motors?

You're kidding, right? In my opinion, TOO MANY people buy modified motors, long before they're really ready to handle them(much like those who buy a nitro car as their very first R/C vehicle, some can do fine, but most will just get frustrated). Those of us who race heavily buy LOTS of mod motors, personally, I have 6 useable ones(though one or two of them are needing replacement) all of different winds for different conditions.... :)

Amen Grizzbob :)

WAAAY too much horsepower with not nearly enough driver behind the "wheel" so to speak. :)

actually when i was looking for motors i started in the mod section of the motor isle.
i was only looking for super speed. but then when i realized that you would have to buy a like super esc with no motor limit and a 3000 batt. to power the thing i went to the stock class and found it much better. and it seems as if stock is the more popular race class. spending money on a mod motor for me would have be worthless for me beacause there are no modified intermediate races i think so that is why i posted this question about the 2 most talked about motors on the market ; mvp and p2k
