Last year I bought an R/C snowmobile and this year I decided to swap out the wimppy little stock motor for a Reedy TI Modified 14+2. I worked over the engine compartment so that the motor fits like a glove, hitched up the wires but cant get the motor to turn the rpms it should. What do I need to do to get this baby up and running? Also does anyone know if they make clutches for electric motors, if not what would be the best gears for torque and speed combined? Any comment would be great ,thanks.

have you checked to see if your esc can handle it? the turns may be to low for your esc, also make sure the brushes are making good contact andif your esc can handle more batteries, add more batteries! voltage boosts provide the most speed increase!

It probably is the speed control because when I connect the battery(9.6v ni-cd 600mAh) straight to the motor it winds up so fast that I think its gonna twist right out of its mounts. What do I look for and how do I replace it?
