View Full Version : Revised Motor Question (Thanks Again)

My Orignal Question was Which Motor to put in My 4wd Tamiya Buggy, to make it competitive with my wife's Rustler (Stock) I have decieded to goto a Mod Motor, Here is the Question. I can Get a Speed Gem 17T, A Kyosho Atomic Force 17Tx2 or Monsters of Touring 17T
What Would you Get. Keep in Mind that I don't race I just Run it aroud for fun, Pavment, Grass, Dirt Whatever... Thanks again Every one. You Guys are a Great Help.

I am pretty sure that Kyosho uses an oversize square brush on that motor. That should be easier on the com & brushes, good for torque, just what a 4wd car needs. The trade off is a drop in rpm. I can't help you out on the other's other than that the speed gems are very popular.

i would say a speed gesms, because they have bearings, and have adjustable timing. just my $.02

I have a Monsters of Touring 15x2 in my B3 and love it. It's wayyy faster than stock and I still have not seen any signs of wear or a decrease in performance (about 15-20 battery packs so far). Plus, the Monsters of Touring are CHEAP. If you don't want to cut your comm or change your brushes, you can just buy a new one.
