Anyone on the boards own or try out a Hitec HFX speed control? It seems to me to be a cheap, top-end speed control. Here are some specs on it:

High Frequency (1830 Hz)
Overheating protection
Current limiter
One-touch setup
3 wire setup (12 awg)
4-10 cells, 0.00167 on-resistance
10+ turn motor limit

I am currently looking into buying a new ESC to replace the Explorer II in my B3. If anyone has experience with the HFX or any other feedback, I'd like to hear from you.

Thanks,
Dan C

Funny, I think I paid about that much for my Novak 410-M5 way back when... and it has about the same specs as far as I remember too. Still kickin' around too!

Looks like no one on the board has one right now, so I'll have to ask this:

If anyone has the March 1998 issue of RCCA, can look in the Product Watch section to tell us what Greg Vogel has to say about the Hitec HFX

Thanks

I have a couple of them, they are pretty nice for a low price ESC. I switched to a cyclone and as far as I can tell its a little smoother. I race with a guy who is sponsered by Hitec he runs the hfx and wins. I dont think that you can go wrong for the price.

I still run one in my B3 and I have no problems.

Thanks Corey,

I guess my decision is going to come down to how much I want to spend. If I want to spend less than 80, I'll go with the HFX. If I want to spend upwards of 100, I'll probably go with a Cyclone or Keyence (or maybe a Quantum... depends on how much they are).

Kevin - I couldnt tell you on that I have never driven a fusion or the futaba one. Sorry

Brian - Jeremy Kopp is sponsered by Hitec. Has been for a while.
