Im thinking of getting a novak supersport (brushless) for my associated t4.:D and my friend has 1 the same but he has a peak dysinty 19 turn and a novak xxl esc. will mine go better then my mate's? IF YES HOW MUCH FASTER!!
Also he crashed it a few times and they seem weak to me is this true??
if so what hop-up's shall i get?
Thanks!

Your brushless will be much faster. Im not sure how much faster but there should be no comparison. The best upgrade is learn to drive without crashing before you go brushless. Hop-up's will only do so much.

my t4's are pretty tough, the weakest link for me is the steering blocks and rear body mounts

as for the brushless speed i couldnt tell you how much but i know you would be faster when geared right.

i would go with integy steering blocks and rear body mounts, if you have the factory team version thats all you need (in my opinion)

yeah thanx
i have a nitro tc3  , t-maxx with picco26, e-zilla with twin brushless  so i am quite an experienced driver. im gunna use it for bashing what will break easy and is it an alloy or rpm job??

If you haven't bought the novak supersport I would wait a little and save up for the new Novak GTB 6.5 or 5.5. They would seriously waste a 19T.

I totally agree with "tq_racing" by that you should wait until you stop hitting things before you buy brushless because trust me with the 5.5 (or even the) SS you will definitly hit more things than you already are.

The T4 isn't a very good basher...it is designed for racing where, for most drivers, you don't hit much, if anything. It will hold up to some crashes, but don't crash it like it's a T-Maxx or Savage...

yes, in rcca they put it in a xxx-4 buggy (comparative to a truck as far as weight) and it wnet like 34 mph without gearing for speed, so i think youll be impressed if you go with the gtb

What about the new Associated LRP Sphere Brushless/Brushed ESC's and the Reedy Neo One brushless motors? How do they stack up against the Novak gtb?

I went with GTB because of novaks awsome customer support. I think the LRP sphere is closer to 9T brushed where the GTB 5.5 is closer to a 7T or 8T but correct me if I'm wrong.

They have a Reedy Neo One 7 turn, as well as a 9, 11 and 13 (according to Tower Hobbies website)

I'm just wondering cause I'm in the same boat, except I haven't purchased yet. I've been deciding between the LRP/Reedy combo OR the GTB setup. I've always been a fan of Novak, but the LRP ESC also support brushed motors, which is an added bonus...

the GTB also supports brushed motors. $240 for 34mph doesn't seem worth the money

LRP is the way to go, mine runs cool withOUT needing a fan, 240 for 34mph doesnt seem worth the money to me either , if your after speed spend 280 and get a rtr gt, but if you want electric power that you NEVER have to maintence then its worth it! I'm glad i never bought a comm lathe!

good point about the speed, I just thought it would have been faster.

It's the November 05 issue of RCCA and it was not the GTB, it was the SS5800 that went 34mph. The 5.5 will easily do 40+. The Reedy Neo ONE, which is the 2nd fastest reedy motor did 40.1mph in that same article.

For some reason they pitted these two motors in a shootout instead of comparing the Reedy to the GTB.

ahh... my memory failed me, but that is the article i was talking about......

thanks
can you run a 5.5 motor off the sphere controller...?!?

Yes, I'm almost positive that you can run the 5.5 with the sphere.
