I am fairly new to the new r/c world, I have a Motor Question. I have a Totally Stock Tamiya 4Wd Buggy, And My Wife Has a Traxxas Rustler again totally stock.
Now Her Truck is a Lot Faster than My Buggy, I want to get a new motor around $30 I have no Idea What to buy. What I want is a Little more Speed (Compairable to the 20 turn stinger that she has) But I don't want to kill the run time on the car. Should I get a Mod Or Stock. I was looking at a P2k Pro, Green Machine, Or a Trinity 19 or 17 Turn? How Much Better is a p2k or GM Vs. the Rs540 that is Stock?
Oh Ya I run this in the Grass, Dirt, Pavment, ECT/

ANy Help would be Appericated... Thanks....

the green machine has the highest RPM's for a stock motor. the P2K has very high torque which makes your car accellerate faster. if you want more speed go with the GM3 (green machine 3). also you can put a set of ball bearings in your car and it will allow it to have better speed and more runtime.

Yeah, you'll be plenty competitive with a stock Rustler if you have a better stock motor (P2K) and install some bearings.

Just don't tell her you changed the motor and added bearings. ;)

Go with the P2K. The GM3 will smoke the 1st time you go in grass!

The stock motors suggested are good, but I think the best bang for the buck are machine-wound mild modified motors. I would suggest something in the 17+ turn range with a removable endbell (for maintenance) and ball bearings instead of bushings. Competition stock motors are as expensive as the rules allow, but the MW modifieds are very reasonable. My 2 cents.

Check out Banzai Motors (http://www.banzaimotors.com) they have great stock motors for $28 and nice modifieds for reasonable prices.

I'd go with Steve on this one. Just don't go for a low wind. Keep it in the upper teens & it'll be reasonable to maintain & be plenty fast. Speed Jems, Or Peak's are good.
