Hello all, I got a Factory Team RC10T3. I use in in backyard mostly, VERY lil racing. I want a good motor without spending too much money. I got a Paradox Pro(Trinity) but I would like a bit more.
My LHS told me that the P2K would not give me as much topend as the Paradox, is this true? What would be a good motor to buy, under $35-40? I hear P2K, and Speed Gems, but know little about either. It can be stock or mod, makes no diff to me.Which will give me more speed off the start and which will give me more topend? And runtime too.
I also read that the MVP Reedy has more rpm than the P2K, as you can see, I am VERY confused as to what to get, lol. Lastly, I have 19 tooth Pinion, would this be good on either the P2K or Gem, or what should I use? I thank you much for any advice, I am new to this and do not wish to waste my money. By the way, how much extra run time will I get if I go from my 1500 cheapo's to some decent 200 or 2400's?

for stock motors, i would recommend the MVP. It will work well with you 19 tooth pinion, also. if you buy a mod motor, you will need to get a smaller pinion, and you will lose run time.
If you are really looking for run time, try a 3000 pack. they can take multiple charges in a single day without any trouble, also. Nicads don't like that.
I really don't know much about the mod motors. someone else will have to help with that.

On my RC10T3, I have a 19 tooth pinion for the Paradox Pro, is this good? Are the Speed Gems mods? If so, how much run time will I lose if I get, let's say, the 14T-single.

I'd take a gradual step up and try a Trinity Chameleon, it's a 19-turn mod I think.

Get a Trinity Monster Maxx Pro, its a 17 turn 550 sized motor. Its awesome in my friends B3. And it will walk wheelies. Its bad. Good Luck with choosing a motor.

Buy the Chameleon arm (about $11), & put it in the Paradox can. It will work the same as a Chameleon motor without the investment. Your not competing with it anyway so it doesn't need to be legal. I've done this & it works well for play motors. They are also fairly durable, not too bad on the com, & plenty fast if kept maintained properly. Try it, you'll like it! :D ;)

Railman, I hear the Chameleon arm is a hemi wind, and when placed in a stock motor can, it will run backwards. If the timing is locked, you're stuck with a reversed motor or retarded timing if you switch pos & neg.

Nairb, Your half right. I had to pull one of ours apart to check. It is hemi wound but all you have to do is reverse the wires. The other way would be to swap magnets (I think, but I'm not 100% on that one) The timing is the same, unless you want to run your car in reverse! :p I've used these in three different stock cans: Firehawk, Midnight 2, & Paradox. All ran real good. The 1st time I saw one was in the stock truck class in a Midnight2 can. The guy got tired of running against the other supposed stock trucks so he decided to go one better! He said it was really hard to practice with it because it was hard to drive with just 1/2 throttle, so as not to be too obvious. He only ran it that one time & then quit stock truck. It works, it's cheap, & fun! :p  :D

I just bought a Associated Sonic2 10x2 for my T3....that thing FLIES!!! But of course it dumps my 2000's in about 3-4min. With that motor, I actually have a chance to beat my friends RC10GT
