If I hard-wire my ESC to my battery pack, how do I charge the pack? I know this is a silly question, but I previously used connectors on my batteries and charging was fairly obvious. I recently purchased a new ESC and was contemplating hard-wiring everything rather than using the connectors? But I'm unsure of how to charge the pack, and I would hate to damage my ESC by incorrectly charging my batteries...

Thanks for any help...

Well, you'll need to unsolder your battery from the ESC before charging. To charge it, just hook up the charger's alligator clips to battery bars on the ends of the battery or simply solder the charger wires temporarily to the battery. There are a few ways to do things...

Don't change connectors on your charger. I am assuming your charger has Tamiya connectors. Buy a female-female (or male-female) Tamiya adapter. Clip of the male end and solder alligator clips in it's spot. Now, you can charge packs with plug and packs without.

I do what Obi says, except I use Deans connectors. I don't use the white tamiya connectors for anything. Too many problems.

You can charge batteries while they are connected to the Speed Control.

I saw you in concert with Foreigner back in '85. (or was that the summer of 69?)

Just charge them while they're soldered up. Everyone I know has done it for years with no problems. R.W.

Just a suggestion....after hard wiring batteries for several years, I've started using the Reedy power pins (#652). $10 for 5 pairs, wiring stays very short and neat, very low resistance like soldering, but sooooo much less trouble than soldering everytime. I'm very happy. Some alligator clips on the charger leads is all you need to charge them.

Combones - LOL. You can't imagine all the Bryan Adams jokes I've heard in my 23 year existance(Have you seen office space? Story of my life). What's funny is most people assume I 1) like his music or 2)am somehow related to him - which doesn't make any since to me... 9 times out of 10, people don't believe that is my real name. For the record...I'm not a Bryan Adams fan ;)

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I purchased some Dean's plugs.
