Hey, I tried running my mamba and I am not able to go full throttle right away, and reverse hardly works. it takes just the right touch. I noticed if I try to go faster to sudden, the motor kind of shuts off in a sense. Is this cogging? I am using the mamba 6800 with stock wiring, deans ultras, and stock rc18t battery pack. Thanks

I get a similar symptom occasionally on launch (5400k in an RC18B), but at no other time. Managed to reduce how often it occurs by dialing up the throttle EXP a bit (+25%)... which I now realize wouldn't be an option for you if you're using the RTR radio. Oops.
Reverse has a timed delay on it in the default setting. You have a wait about 2 seconds at a stop for reverse to engage. Initially annoying, but better I think than blowing up the whole drivetrain. Oh,a nd once engaged, it's limited to 25% or something along those lines.

yea, i have the usb cord to set all of that stuff in the esc. I have the same problem with reverse.

EXP rate generally works the same in brushed motors it controls the amp or power going to motor so you don't encounter excessive wheelspin or lost of control. When traction is very good you may want EXP at 100% and decrease it by 10-25% increments with 50% the norm. While I haven't gotten in brushless systems it sounds like a current limiter or traction control feature.

Other than the controller being programed in a current limit setting it could be the stock battery pack can't handle the load when you get on the throttle hard. BL's need good packs made with quality cells that can handle high loads.

yea, I just made a 7 cell pack out of some 1200mah cells and 18 gauge wire and deans and it works better, still not 100% but better.
