hey i hope you can give some ideas on this one...
when i bought the ft b3 kit i was sooo ameture at building that i just basically took the shocks filled them with some oil and put the cap on it and didnt even care that i didnt put the o rings or any thing in right and didnt test them to make sure they had pressure .and since then i beleive that inside the shock body there is just loose parts and no oil and every thing is shot to heck in there but i have not had the guts to look.
i can tell that the car drops down just when i put the batt. in . thats baaaaad!
is there any thing i can do without spending a fortune?
i plan on racing, is bad shocks even that big of a deal...? help!

Since you're not "sooo ameture" (so immature) anymore, take the shocks off your B3, disassemble them with the help of the B3 manual, and rebuild them exactly how the B3 manual says. You'll be very, very pleased with the results. Just make sure you rebuild them EXACTLY how it says, even in getting all the bubbles out of the oil with the shock fully built except for the cap (so you can see into the shock where the oil is). Like Nike says, Just Do It!!!!!!!

Do what Matt just said. You should probably use all new spacers, pistons, o-rings, etc. Team Associated has a special product just for you: the Shock Rebuild kit. It's very inexpensive (around $5), and it'll give you all pistons and o-rings you need. Just make sure you still have enough of the stock shock oil. If not, got buy some (doesn't matter which brand, though I'd stick with either Associated of Losi). The stock oil is 25wt, though many people prefer to use 30wt oil.

smooth shocks are absolutely essential in racing, btw.

Gotta have good shocks dude. Get the rebuild kit and do it. Take your time and be sure to trim all the flashing away from the bushings like it says in the manual. Make sure the piston moves very freely up and down before adding oil and capping. If the piston feels not so smooth going in and out, you probably need to trim the bushings more. It is worth the time to make them right, even if you just bash around. http://www.plauder-smilies.com/beerchug.gif
