View Full Version : old 6 cell battery pack

i have this very old 6 cell 1500 batt. pack and it does me no good any more is there any thing i can do with it that is useful, without throwing it away? (it still charges and puts out power)
and if your wondering why me b3dude is posting so many questions its beacause i am new to electric powered cars and im new to the post and i have questions comin out the wazzooo so sit tight and answer my questions, PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE, thanx

That's ok, dude, there's a couple of things you can do with one of those packs if you're not going to race with it. What I like to do with those is remove 2 of the cells on it to make a 4 cell pack which I use to power my comm lathe & also for breaking in a motor's brushes.... :)

Do you have any more batteries of the same type? If so, just hang on to it in case you loose a cell in one of those packs you can replace it with a cell from that pack.

If you have a charger that gets really hot, go out and buy a computer fan and use the battery to power it. Then place the fan on top of the charge and have it pull air away.

Make a four cell to power your lathe. That means you should buy a lathe if you can. You won't regret it. :p

Whatever you do, don't throw it in the trash. Take it to be recycled if you don't want it anymore.
