I need some more help. The April 2001 issue of RCCA had an article about esc's, at the end of the article there was a sidebar about the astroflight 208D esc. My brother and I were going through some stuff and found an astroflight 217D esc. I got some info from the astroflight site:
max cells 18
max amps 35
mosfets 2 ea 80no3
resistance .003 ohms
pwm rate 2800 hz
bec no

I realize that this was made for planes, but would it work in a car/truck? I don't know why not but I don't want to fry the thing to find out. Thanks

Yeah, it'll work, but you need to use a receiver pack to run your radio gear because it has no BEC.

Thats what I thought. I guess I'm not sure how that works. There is a tamiya style connector for the battery, bullet style connectors for the motor, and a plug for the reciever. Where do I connect or plug in another battery pack? Thanks for your help.

Grab the 4 cell pack that came with your radio (probably) and put 4 AA's in it. Your receiver should have a plug in for a battery.
