Hi All, as per title, Having been up into my loft, like so many others i guess, I have come across my R/C cars!

those being Tamiya Astute, still with slipping ball diff, easy fix?
Tamiya Bush devil- with wobbly front wheels when reversing
Tamiya Celica, TA01 which seems to of survived the ravages of time ;)

basicaly I have bought a 3300mah battey, the old 1200mah batteries are long gone now! and having some money now I'm looking at buying a ESC for one of the cars.

I'm now looking for a Electronic speed controller to use with stock RS540/sport tuned and the 19T motor...

any pointers?

TIA

Steve

I'm a fan of LRP speedos. The IPC Sport can handle down to 14 turns which is plenty for a 540 or 19T. It's $50 at towerhobbies:

DuraTrax makes quite a few speedos that are cheaper than LRP but I'm not sure how good they are. Here's a list of the ones Tower sells. (I'm just using Tower as a place to compare items, you may be able to find a better deal elsewhere)

Hi, Thanks for th e reply.

Im a little confused with the "Turns" on a motor.
does a 19T motor have more power than a 27T motor?

TIA

Yes it has, but its all rpm. Less turns more rpm. More turns more torque.

as for your bush devil, it probably has worn bushings. a pretty cheap fix. get some bearings and youll be laughing. as for the astute, try taking it apart and rebuilding the diff. it would be better than it is now, but you might need some new parts for it

You prolly need new diffballs to replace the old ones ;)
