Has anyone heard anything about Pro-Line Racing's new 2.2 Truck Tires: Sling Shot and Mohawk. I am starting to think about getting some tires for running in the snow, and the Sling Shot's definitely look interesting. Any information would be appreciated.

They look cool! I would think they would be great for bashing around in the snow.

I think it depends on the condition of the snow. If it were to fresh, the paddles might just turn into shovels and dig a nice hole for the car. On the other end of the spectrum, if the snow is that really hard packed stuff/iced over, the paddles won't do much for you, even then the front ribs wouldn't be able to dig in to provide a directional rudder. Somewhere in between, it could be great, but I think those tires might work better in sand.

Nice designs. Pro-line has a good rep, so I am sure these tires will sell good.

Those paddles look like they would just pack with snow? I have Proline Sand Paws that work excellent for powder and for chewing up hard packed snow and ice. I don't know about those mohawks, they don't like they would have much traction on hard surfaces. Some ribbed directional tires up front I found work best. They really dug into the hard packed snow and ice covered snow.

I am not saying to forget the Mohawk and Slingshots. They just don't look like they would work the greatest in all snow conditions

I might try Losi or Proline Step-pins for the rear tires as well. They should hook up pretty well in snow.
