$180 for a Quantum competition!!!! Is that good or what!!!

sure, 180 sounds like alot, but at tower they sell for like $245! Its at my lhs, and there normally alot higher priced than tower, foexample a cyclone at my lhs is like 160$, and at toer there $139. Is this better for the 40$ more than the cyclone? I heard they fry easily, is that true? I just KNOW mylhs has there prices mixed up (there selling the quantum sport for 260$ so i bet they mixed up the prices!) So should i take advantage or is it not worth it?

From what I've been hearing, a lot of people have been torching their Quantums, including sponsored drivers(I heard of one that has already toasted 7 of them), & supposedly, LRP has admitted that there may be a defect or design flaw in its circuitry layout. That might be why you were able to find one at a lower price than normal(keep in mind, this is just what I've heard, I don't have conclusive proof). IMHO, I really don't think the extra price of the Quantums gives you any measurable advantage over a good Novak Cyclone(as in measurable from the driver's perspective or lap times), & you can definitely count on the reliability of any Novak product(I've been using their ESC's for over 10 years & I've never had a single problem with them).... :)

ive got the lrp quantum and have yet to fry it, maybe because i only use it for stock due to its insane punch that has become a trademark for LRP. i got mine for less than a C2 or TC2, so id say dont get the ones from wherever, find them where they are priced at about the same as the TC2 and C2 if you really want one......

btw, otherwise, yes, get a TC2 or C2, they are worth it if you have the extra chassis space (my xxxs looks cluttered with the huge capacitor ;))

If you get an LRP.. get the IPC v7.1 . It's the best, and if you look @ the specs, the doggon' amperage and ratings (most) are almost double and some TRIPLE that of the Quantum. My friend had... ha.. HAD.. a Quantum.. blew it up (smoke) on a 10 turn motor. I have a Tekin (PIECE) G-12c.. it's ok.. I want to get an IPc v7.1.. my other friend has one and that sucker gets barely past room temp w/ an 13x3 modder. Anyway.. if you spend that much friggin' $$$$$ get the IPC.. :D :D

one of my lhs's sells the quantom pro for 160. the same price as stormer hobbies. that is the best price i have found yet.

I vote for the v7.1. Also heard a lot of people smoking/frying the quantum. Overall performance/reliability/price, the v7.1 is a great piece of equipment. It's got a lot of punch compared to my Dually backup. I know the 2 units are in different leagues, but it's worth the money.
