i have a 19 tooth pinnion in my wild willy 2. i just got a speed gems ruby motor for it and put it in. it goes extremely slow even with a 1700 pack that is fully charged.
1. What is going on?

2. do i go down or up on teeth? i want to have fast accelleration.

3. also, how do i break it in? in have used maybe 1 pack on it.

4. what would be my average run time in warm weather. (i tested it my basement with my gas fireplace on and i still only got about 1 minute of run time.)

5. would the time be less if i ran it outside when it is cold?

thanks to everyone who can help me out
later

Sounds like a battery problem to me, try another pack, maybe a friends, is your motor really hot after? i say, if in doubt, gear lower, if you want more accelaration, and run time, gear lower

it sound to me that you havent broken in your motor yet, hook your wires u to a single c cell batterie, let it run out all the juice of it, then clean your motor with powershot motor cleaner from duratrax. then oil all the bearings again and that should fix the prob.

i would check your terminals on the motor...make sure your leads are not crossed and your capaciters are not shorting it out. then try a different bat...if it still dosn't work then take it back where you got it...as for run time on a rustler we get about 10 to 15 minutes of hard running with a 2200mah radio shack bat

just like a duracell , and run it dead. then it should be broken in" just run the whole batterie down". then clean it with power shot and re oil the bearings.
