Hey whats up again, I have been out in cali on vacation, and while I was out here I was flipping through a towehobbies brochure, and there was an add for the Duratrax Evader ST. SO does anybody have one of these? What are your guys's opinions. It looks pretty good for only 169 RTR. Is it the replacement for the Rustler? Cuz maybe Im off the boat but Duratrax and traxxas are kind of hand in hand. IM wondering cuz for the friends I am getting into the sport, it looks like the truck for them to get. Also how is Duratrax's customer support, do they really replace the parts you break? Thats all I guess. so give me you 2 cents.

I think it looks pretty cool...but all the new things seem cool since I'm used to my "Playtron" Lynx 4WD and handbuilt charger  . The only comment I have is that the A1-4 (I think) frequencies are very often in use if you have other RTR drivers in your radio range, and that could make for an impressive "curbside affair" . (Boy...lot's of posts in my first few days.)
(Gotta learn to proofread my posts!)

I would say that the part availability for that truck might not be very good!If it was my lhs i would never get any parts, they dont carry any duratrax parts!

the trucks not even out yet.....tower wont have any tell mid Aug. and there is no info about it on Duratraxs site, so nobody can say if its good or bad yet! and as it being a replacement for the rustler, its more of compitetion for it not a replacement. From the pic i have seen (at tower.com) it looks like it should be a good car,it has some nice features(like aluminum shocks etc)so i think it will be good...........my $.02..........

Looks like it might be a race-worthy truck. Judging by the features and the look, an experienced driver should be able to keep up with the T3's and XXXT's.

Though the ad says the parts are stress tech parts... so that means excess flexing in the suspension, though less broken parts (there's a reason they bend between the two pliers in the picture!) And I always thought we have been told to never let the diff slip... especially when you can use a slipper clutch... but the ad says that you can adjust it to slip when the going gets rough... slap slap. :) Though, if the suspension components can be stiffened up, it should be just as race worthy as a Rustler.

I think it's swweet! It comes with aluminum shocks, ball diff ESC, slipper, all the stuff that u would have to buy extra if you bought a Traxxas or anyother RTR vehicle ptetty much. I thuink its great for begginers who don't want to pay alot but want to get the whole package with the best stuff. Good Job Duratrax!

Looks like a heck of deal to me!! The chassis looks like a clone of a XX-T (you could truly race this one). For 170 you get the truck w/ bearings, ball diff, slipper clutch, threaded shock bodies(!?), and universal joint driveshafts! Along with the radio, motor, and an esc! Man, what a deal....They sure didn't have anything like that when I got into R/C! (1986)

How good do you think that ESC is? I bet it wouldnt be able to handle something below a 16-18T mod, but for stockers it might be good. And what does the gear cover look like? I hope they give it a good hard, sealed cover. I hope Traxxas comes up with the Rustler II, so we can get the prices even lower from the competition between the two RTR giants.

RCCA Review it ASAP!

I think it looks like a good truck. If that truck was out when I started I would have got that instead of the Rustler.
I wonder if Duratrax is preparing a nitro version?!

They've already got a nitro stadium truck: Maximum ST.
