since i bought my rustler i have had nothing but problems with the electronics. first the reciever went nuts, then the servos went out. now i have a duratrax streak esc with a 13t double speed gem and i want to protect it by putting a new radio setup in it. can anyone suggest either a tower hobbies 2 channel 3000 2tw or a hitec lynx? i want to go with a reciever, controller and 2 servos(1 as a spare). any suggestions or personal experience with these will be appreciated.

yes the tower radio setups are made by futaba. somewhere in the tower website i saw where it had said they are an older magnum setup, like 2 or 3 years old. are these futabas still better than the hitec lynx?

No. The Tower radio is the old Magnum Sport. It dosnt have dual rate steering. I used and still have the Futaba Magnum JRs for years. Then I switched to the Lynx because its much cheaper and works just as well. Get the Hitec Lynx and forget the Tower.

Have you cheked out Airtronics Blazer? There is a Blazer Sport that is cheaper but doesn't have as many features.

I would go with the XR2. It is the best and cheapest 2 channel radio with 2 model memory and an LCD screen. I just got the XR2 for X-Mas and love it. I used to have the Lynx but I like the XR2 better. It is made by JR RACING. They also make an XR3 with 3 model memory with a third channel.

hey everyone, thanks for the input. keep it coming. i think the hitec sounds good and besides it will help a local small time hobby shop rather than the tower monster.
