I plan on getting a road car for my B-Day (7/5) and was wondering if I should just wait for the XXX-S or just go with the TC3? Is it worth spending the extra $50 on the TC3 Team touring car than the reqular TC3 racer? Really, how noticeable is it? And can someone explain the whole battery thing to me (1400 vs 1500 vs 1700 vs 1900 vs 2400 vs 3000) in terms that a child could understand? I'm planning on running stock most of the time but mod to just mess around on occasion. Thanks for all the help!

There's not a lot of info available on the XXXS with repect to how it compares, so you can't really know until the car becomes available. The batteries are rated by capacity, and the numbers you see are the rating in mAh (milli-amp hours). mAh can be converted to amp-hours by dividing by 1000. So, a 3000 mAh battery can deliver 3 amps for an hour (3 amp-hours). That translates into 6 amps for a half hour, 12 amps for 15 minutes, 24 amps for 7.5 minutes and so on. So, the numbers relating to capacity tell you the size of the "fuel tank." For stock racing, the 2400 Ni-Cd and 2nd generation Ni-MH appear to be working the best. Mod racers might lean more towards the 3000 Ni-MH batteries, but you can run the Ni-Cds as well.

Ive looked in RCCA and ive looked at associated and RCCA got the car of the year thing wrong. It states the team comes with steel turnbuckles (wrong) composite cvd's (wrong) The team is worth it. Go with it, thats what im getting

tc3 has shaft drive, no belts to replace. Its fast, its great. Any hobby shop thats a hobby shop (sounds stupid ah?) will have parts for it. Look at the big time races. TC3! i got one and loving it. It IS the best handeling car iv got. i was really suprised with it. I went out to the track with it, i usually race my nitro rustler that has been lowered for on road, and it tackled the corners where my nitr rustler spun out. and flew out of them. i say go with a tc3. you wont go wrong.

The question is do you want the new Losi technology or the older proven AE technology? In the end its going to be driver preference, I'm an AE guy so I'd get it (just because I'm not worried about how hooked up it is out of the box, I'll hook it up to my liking anyway :) )
I'd wait for the XXX-S and see what you think :)
