As some of you may know, I mistakenly purchased a stock lathe recently. Well I alos purchased a mod lathe and am good to go. My question is this: When I purchased the stock lathe, it came with 3 extra carbide bits which are brand new in the package. will these work in my mod lathe? Is there something inherently different about these two types of bits? They seem to be the correct shape and size although the tips are a bit different, but it seems to me that as long as the tip can cut the comm, it should work. Any input would be appreciated. BTW, the mod lathe is a Cobra and the stock lathe is a Hudy.

I'd say it's worth a try(especially since they're only carbide ones). The diamond bit on my Cobra mod lathe is actually for the stock one, I could find a normal mod bit so I got what I could at the time, & it seems to work just fine. Just be careful when setting it up & using it, & I imagine it should work fine.... :)
