I am just wondering how good are the 2400 unmatched cells? I really cant afford buying $80 batteries and was wondering do I really need them? I recently bought a unmatched trinity 2400 sanyo pack for $44 but have seen similar packs for $35 and got info on a Orion 2400 pack for $20. These batteries should be good enought right? Wouldnt I be better of with 1 matched pack or 2 unmatched packs? I only be running a stock T3 and a Stampede with a 19T speed gems.

Matched packs are for those who are serious about racing their RC cars... unmatched packs are for those who just wanna drive their RC car around the lot with friends... if you got Trinity cells unmatched then there is nothing wrong... Trinity, Orion, and all those who supply NiCd & NiMH cells are great... i on the other hand, purchase Trinity cells, why? cause i always have been... nothing special... heck, it could be the name!!! :D

Those packs will work fine for you. I race twice a week (usually) and I only got my first matched pack last saturday and still haven't built it. I use 2400 mAh stick packs at the track and they work fine. I don't win any races but I can promise you that my batteries have nothing to do with that... :)

Hey JonBoy, where'd you find that Orion 2400 pack? On eBay? I've seen some low prices on their batteries so I was thinking about getting some (since I found out my Pirahna will charge 'em)

I found they Orions at ultimatehobbies.com they are not on there web site you have to call for about anything. I wrote them and they said that they should be getting them soon and its been a few weeks since then they were 19.99 each and they had some Peak Sanyo for 34.99 to.

$20 bucks for a 2400? wow that's a good deal an unmatched 1700 costs that much! Any unmatched 2400 from any company is good. Batteries only varry from different companys when they are matched because of the different matching sevices. It could only be bad if they where from the first batch of 2400's that came out but since u said they aren't in stock yet i doubt they are.

I race with 1700s and have plenty of power, i am sure unmatched 2400s will work for you. By the time you need matched 2400s, you will be able to answer the question for yourself!
