New p2k pro quit after 30 min use.

New p2k just quit working. I have elec rustler with stock esc. Put the stinger back in and it worked fine. Hooked the p2k up to direct voltage and still nothing. Should I send it back or tear it apart to find the problem ??

I would suggest taking the motor back to the hobby shop so someone with more motor experience can diagnose the problem.

Can you spin the armature by hand? If yes, I would follow SteveP's advice, if no, then you might just have a small stone inside the can.

It could be a stuck brush. Pull back on the brush shunts( the wire sticking out the back of the brush) and then let it ease back in. Do both brushes. Spin the motor by hand once or twice. Now try to give the motor power again. If it runs then a brush was stuck. If it dosnt then its defective.
