I just had a dynamite 2000 pack go on me, it only took 49 seconds to charge with my millenium. What are some good cells to get for racing? 2400, or 3000. Also, I dont think i want to spend more than $70. Also I have about 7 2000 packs and I've converted about 5 to saddle for my TC3 and Pro 2. I would think loose cells are better?

I prefer loose cells also, i am staying with the 2400's because i like them, if you are pretty set on the 3k's, get the stock metal hydrides, you can get the top of the line packs of either one for 70 i am sure.
Things to do with your old pack, find the crap cell(s) and make a 4 cell for breaking in motors, that is what i did

4 cells is enough to drive a lathe too

How would i find the bad cells? Also the idea of a 4 cell motor/lathe pack is good

I took my digital volt meter, and hooked it up, i could tell which ones were messed up, and which were not pretty easy, maybe you could have the same luck i did

Sometimes you can find the bad cell by temp. charge the pack for a minute(sounds like that is all you can do!) and then try to feel the hotter cells. use the back of your hand, or if that doesn't work, the area under your bottom lip. Sounds wierd, but worked for me, and I know others who have done it this way.

So I guess the hotter cells are the ones with more internal resistance, and are screwed up. Can you suggest some inexpensive ($40-$60) matched 2400 unassembled 6 cells? Maybe I'll just get some generic trinity matched unassembled 6 cells

Integy's cheapest matched 2400 pack is $35. Go to http://www.integy.com
I've read some posts that Integy cells are bad because they inflate their numbers? Is this true? If so, are they still better than unmatched stick packs?

Obi112, they are good cells, some guys at my track race with them, and they appear to be decent, thing is that they do not print the IR on them, and they discharge at 20 Amps, not the usual 30, so that it looks like they have super voltage, i have also e-mailed them concerning this, they do not inflate their numbers, but all i know is that you can pick them up dirt cheap.

Thanks XXXER, Integy cells will probably be my first matched set...

Yeah, I got some of those $35 matched 2400s for my friend (kinda...more like neighbor, he's annoying) and they work great and are very punchy. I definitely think they're worth $35.
