I have a two battery packs one has Sanyo 1400 cells(dunno how old it is) the other has Sanyo 1500 cells(it's new) they both only last about a min. Am I doing something wrong? I was given a Dynamite Mega 1 charger and i'm letting the batteries charge for the full 15min on the timer. Is this not enough??

Sell that timed charger on eBay and get yourself an entry level peak charger! With the price of peak chargers within $10-$15 of cheap timed chargers, there's no excuse to use one of those dinosaurs! Your batteries will love you for it. RCCA did a whole feature in December's issue I believe. They compared a bunch of sport peak chargers. I use a Pirahna, and it works fine.

First off I didn't pay for this charger, second I just plopped out $200 for other crap to get this car running, my cash flow just dropped like niagra.....

First what kind of motor are you using? Second 15 min. is not long enough to fully charge the batteries. It would be best if you got some kind of peak charger.

I'm using a Maxtec motor, it's a mod but dunno how much of one....

If I run a MILD mod motor (16X3) in my T3 truck (16pinion, 85 spur) and a 1700mah battery I only get 4min. of time. With my cheap 1500 sport pack, I only get about 1m 30s of time.

With a Stock motor like the P2K (21pinion), and a 1500 I can almost finish a 4minute race.

I still have a 1400 battery(pirhana) that has lasted me 5 years so long, and that is after even newbie use(like 5 times a day) still runs great, and i swear, it has GAINED run time, LOL

what car are u using the packs in too?

and a charger is the single most important part (besides the motor, but very equal to the batts) in a electric car. thats the one are where you dont skimp on.

if you are low on a budget get the cheapest duratrax intelipeaks, but you should really get the duluxe, its able to charge nimh's at the recommended 4 amps. a good charger is very important.

FYI I have a 1500 duratrax pack that is about 9 yeras old and it still runs great. Just shows the value of proper maintenance.

For the guy who only gets 4 min with a 1700 pack and a 16 turn motor and 1.5 min with a 1500 pack in his T3. YOU are doing something wrong. Either you measure time poorly, have junk batteries, or charger, or the motor is beat to death or you are over geared. Or even something binding in the driveline.

I use 1500s for most uses while bashing and easily get 6 min (stopwatch time) with my B3 and 5min with my Rs4 MT with a 14 turn in the B3 and a 17turn in the MT. I gear properly, maintain my motors regularly, and charge mt batts properly. All my friends experience long run times, and when we finally got 2000s we thought they would NEVER stop. My guess is that your batteries, ESC and motor come from a run piping hot. Where as mine come off the track with the motor cool enough to hold in my hand without burning.

i'm using a 25tooth (i think, maybe 26) with an 88tooth, could this be my problem along with not charging the batteries enough? As far as getting a charger goes, I already have one that was free, and I have no money to spend on anything else.

I run a 17T motor with a 25 tooth pinion gear, with a 1700 mah battery peak charged it runs for about 25 minutes.

I think I set the record for the longest lasting batteries, 5 years. They dies yesterday in my E-Maxx http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/frown.gif

To tell you the truth, it can be anything. Try charging your batteries for 25-30min, give it another spin after the first one is up, and disconnect it when its warm. Try a friends batery in your car, then try charging it with your charger, does it last for a minute or does it last longer?

It is either your battery or your charger, so look at both/try both. But try charging it for 25 minutes or when it starts to get luke warm, that is probably your problem.

ALWAYS gotta better me huh? http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/tongue.gif geez, BTW 5 runs a day is pampering it to me. I run my "sport" packs at LEAST from 8am to 7:30pm, and if there is a time change, I get out there earlier, or move to my basement.

Scout: READ MY OTHER POST!!! Try it and tell us how it works.
